  • Yes! You do need your own website. You can control your own brand and messages, and also benefit from direct sales and bookings. It’s also a way to collect email addresses of your readers - a list that you own (unlike social sites where they own the relationship).

  • This can vary depending on how tech savvy you are, how much time you have and your budget.

    You will need a domain (free from Squarespace in their Core Plan or from someone like Namecheap (which charge around $10-20).

    Your website will be hosted on Squarespace which starts at $15/month. You only pay and sign up for a plan when your website is complete on your handover day.

    As a client, I can give you 10-20% off depending which plan you choose.

  • Squarespace is the perfect platform for authors and creatives. It’s easy to use, has swizzy features and is more secure than sites like Wordpress. They offer 24/7 support should you need any help.

  • You essentially need a: Home page, About page, Books or Services page with easy links to click and buy, and a Contact page. We also recommend adding an email list.

  • No you will not! 

    The reason we love Squarespace as a webpage builder is that it requires no coding or HTML knowledge to get your site looking amazing!

  • Templates are ideal as they have been tried and tested, and already optimized for SEO. This also saves time and money, so no need to reinvent the wheel!

  • Not at all. Once your own books, text, fonts, images, and branding have been added, it will look totally different. We can also change the order of each section around and add new pages to make it totally unique.

  • Not at all! You can start RIGHT from scratch and we will walk you through all of it!

  • Unlike many designers, I have worked in marketing and publishing for many years, and am a published author myself. I have seen many authors struggle to create a professional online home that reflects their work and grows their readership - they would rather be writing!

    I understand newsletters, reader magnets, and what visitors want to see on a website.

    I also offer an hourly rate for updates and a Squarespace-Substack Integration service.
