How to match your substack to your website
your substack shouldn’t look like it belongs to someone elsE.
If you are like one of my clients, your substack is almost as important as your website
Think of your website and Substack as one ecosystem, not two separate brands.
But if you don’t want to do this work yourself, I offer a Squarespace-Substack Integration Package to get your website and Substack not only looking beautiful together, but working in harmony too.
I’ll spend two focused days sorting out how your Squarespace site and Substack talk to each other—so your readers move effortlessly between the two, your reader views increase, and your author brand feels professional and aligned.
If you want to DIY, visit your Substack Website Editor to make changes to your profile to match your website brand. The link will be:

Otherwise, read on with three simple steps that you can implement immediately.
01.
match your colour and logo.
Pick a font for your Substack titles that’s broadly similar to your website typeface. There isn’t a lot of choice, so don’t worry about matching exactly - just go for the same vibe (for example, a simple “sans serif” versus a more traditional “serif” font).
Still in the Substack Website Editor, go to the Header section and add the same logo you use on your website. You can also use a wordmark if you don't have a branded image.
02.
change your headshot and bio to match those on your website
This reassures readers they’re in the right place, looking at content from the same person. Change your headshot and bio to match those on your website. Use a short form on everything including social media.
The link to edit these is: https://substack.com/profile/edit
03.
edit your welcome email. substack has separate emails for each subscriber tier.
Remember that you can populate your website with exclusive content, reader bonuses, an overview of your books, and more. Even if you put a lot of effort into your Substack, your website is a store front that you own.

Remember to include a consistent header to every newsletter to establish a consistent brand identity.
